Biography
Let The Sky Fall. The stars twinkled so brightly that night. Everything in the clan was quiet, not a single dragon had awoken from their slumber as she creeped quietly out of her den and into the midnight air. Through the silence, however, she was filled with such a loudness - a loudness of heart, of energy, of a reborn desire. Her circuit pattern that creeped along her skin and her bright green eyes glowed in the moonlight, while the rest of her was disguised by the aurora borealis, painting the sky with purple and blue. She climbed to the top of the tallest tree she could find - the one beside the drinking pond, with the long vines that twisted and coiled around the trunk - and stared into the sky above. She felt so lonely on this planet, but the world up there. . it called her, it felt like home. It radiated with the same silent loudness she felt inside of her. Getting into position, she pushed off of a branch with her strong hind legs. And then she was off, flying as high as she could into the sky, feeling the cold, midnight wind trying to pull her back down. But she did not turn back. Not until she got as high as she possibly could. Then she finally let herself fall, feeling the world pull her back close, watching as the stars drew further and further away. Maybe someday she would live amongst the stars and planets and the vast universe that existed beyond the atmosphere of her home world. But not today, no. That night was not destined to be tonight, nor was it to be on any of the nights before. |
Daylight - Starlight
Written By: @equinoxs
Daylight;
The sun itself is basking in
My complete and utter misery;
While others may soak up its benevolent rays
And everlasting warmth as if
It is a long embrace from an old friend,
I simply see it as
The vehement mockery of my discomfort
And longing for a place where daylight is nonexistent.
Oh,
Spare me from the false kindness that
The sun beseeches me to display;
I, personally, am much more protected by its
Darkened, colder counterpart.
(“Why do you not enjoy the sun, and its company?”
I smiled, and
Volatility
Fell from my lips.
“I much prefer the silent company of its counterpart,”
I answered simply.)
Starlight;
I greet the nighttime as if it were
An old friend,
Engulfed in its cool and dull rays of light from
Fireflies, campfires, and most especially
The light from galaxies so far away from me.
While others lay their weary heads to rest after
A day of gaily town life and recreation,
I am the only one who accompanies the moon and stars
As others just recently accompanied the sun;
Like a conversation, I raise my head to the sky
And watch, silently-
For there are no need for words when you are beside an
Old friend-
Looking for a sign of acknowledgement,
That I am here and very much present on this Earth,
And that someday the very friend I gaze up to
Will take me back home
Once again.
