Biography
From Nuishe's journal
I see what the Mold King was doing now. Deep down in the Chamberheart, under instinctively understood instructions from the Wyrmwound Blight, he was manufacturing fungal nobles for his kingdom of decay.
Three Spore Lords. I want to write a reason, a purpose for their creation, but the Mold King's and the Blight's thoughts are alien and unknown to me.
This morning, supervised by the Mold King's wicked grin, a jagged monster emerged from the depths of Sporefall Hollow. It most resembles a male Ridgeback, but something about it is horribly, horribly wrong.
I sometimes cannot find it where I know it should be.
It shivers and rustles like dead leaves when it moves.
Its voice is garbled and distorted.
It is cracking at the seams.
It does not belong in this world.
And if what it and the Mold King are saying are true, then it will prove to be the most bearable of the Spore Lords.
Where it chooses to rest, agaric mushrooms grow. My clanmates and I have been invited to eat them, and some of them have. I declined, with the excuse that I only eat meat. They seemed to accept the excuse, but I have seen the Ridgebacks and even Taphrina eat the mushrooms regardless of food preferences.
I will watch them all closely for any new effects that ingestion of the mushrooms might have caused. They could be harmless, they could be beneficial, they could accelerate Blight growth. I will never touch them.
Somehow, whenever I look at the monster, my mind is drawn back to the baby Imperial - Fukinsei - that the Mold King and Magnaporthe dragged into the lair about a month ago. He was taken to the deeper recesses of the Hollow, as many newly infected are, but it only just occurred to me that I had not seen him since. Life in the Hollow put him out of my mind.
I don't recall much about him, as I never saw him in a conscious state, but I remember he had similar colors to the monster. Maybe even the same eyes.
And speaking of eyes, I remember the hunger in the Mold King's eyes as he watched the others carry Fukinsei away. I remember being unnerved at the look on his face.
Now I am unnerved again.
This lair is getting worse.
