Lotus was born from a light egg that was found by Caius by luck when he was travelling. No one has any idea about how she came to be, as her parents have never been found, although everyone is beyond happy about her presence in the clan, and Lotus wouldn’t want to change a thing because she loves her clan, and everyone in it.

She spent her early days as a hatchling becoming accustomed to everyone, and soon found herself making friends very naturally. The more she grew, the more her social circle did too, and Lotus found herself surrounded by friends, making her the happiest she could be. While she tended to stick to people her own age, she always looked up to Caius and would follow him on his short walks, and wave him goodbye whenever he leaves. He was a father figure of sorts, although Lotus was still very independent and did not miss him much when he left as she always knew he would return.

Music was always very captivating to Lotus, and when she was old enough she was given a harp as a gift from Caius. She practiced playing the thing all throughout the resort and was at one point exiled to the less populated parts of it as at the beginning she was very bad at it, but as she got better she was welcomed to practice her songs in the busier parts of the resort, and soon her fellow clan members would stop and listen to her songs, the hatchlings gathering in large groups to admire her music.

Due to Lotus’s natural gravitation towards social situations, and her love for socializing with other dragons, it was only natural for her to begin planning out events. It started off small, as only a couple of her close friends gathering and enjoying a merry time of drinks and song, but she soon began to hold large events and hosting festivals for all the clan members to enjoy! She hosted the majority of them at the resort, and soon she began to coordinate events of which neighbouring clans could partake in. Lotus takes pride in hosting lavish events and making the holidays as enjoyable as possible for all her clan members, Lotus is quite a busy bee, always planning what to do next.

Unfortunately, planning parties isn’t something Lotus can do for a living, and her day job is to be a massager. She has yet to master it, and is still very much so in training, although she enjoys the practice as it gives her time to slow down and enjoy what’s around her. Working full time at the resort is something Lotus knew would happen, but doing massages definitely came as a surprise. She’d only found out she had a knack for it when she’d been dragged into a crisis and one of the massage therapists had hurt their wrist, making them unable to do their job. Lotus had quickly offered to help despite not knowing anything, and since the situation was so dire she was allowed to. It was a little weird for Lotus at first, as she’s not used to being so physical with other dragons, but soon she got used to it and paid it little mind.

All the dragons in her clan have a running joke that Lotus doesn’t know the meaning of stagnation and taking in the fresh air, although that’s not true at all. Despite being so busy all the time, Lotus always finds time for herself. She enjoys lounging about the resort in the more quiet corners, and playing her harp to her heart’s content for whoever will listen. She loves to sing and write songs that will go with her harp’s music, and play them for however long she’d like. Lotus enjoys the Natural Springs of the resort and making friendly conversation with anyone who cares to. When she’s with friends she’ll drink to her heart’s content and enjoy a more personal celebration because for Lotus, everyday is a celebration of life, and she takes this very seriously. She treats herself to luxuries and enjoys fine foods, inviting all those who wish to dine with her.

Another one of Lotus’s favourite pass times is partaking in making games and activities for the hatchlings. She adores making little egg hunts for them and craft days where the hatchlings are allowed to draw. She coordinates all these events with Jaya, whom Lotus finds to be a very fascinating lady. She enjoys exchanging stories with her, as well the pair are frequently seen at the pub enjoying a drink or two together. If you ever asked Lotus who her best friend is, she would say Jaya. While she enjoys almost everyone’s company, Jaya takes the cake.

But, while she has public pleasures, she also has private ones. Unfortunately for Lotus, she absolutely loves tacky romance novels. She has no idea what draws her to their overdone plots and flat characters, but Lotus eats them up, even writing several under a pen name. She hates all the miscommunication within them, the forced love triangles, and the boring characters, but she reads on, eating up every word and staying on the edge of her seat. She’ll go through two novels a week, and can go through an entire novela in a day at most. Whenever Lotus wants to read one of her tacky novels, she locks herself in her house and curls up under the covers with a cup of tea and settles down for the night. Although, when it comes to books that don’t involve such topics, Lotus will gladly carry around rather massive books with her to a quiet place to read, not caring who sees. Reading is one of her favourite things, not only because she loves the books themselves, but because they give her more ideas for things to do.

Within Lotus’s house, there are massive stacks of journals and papers. She documents every celebration, each one she wants to put into action, and ideas that will never be, at least the ones she can remember. Unfortunately for Lotus she can be quite forgetful, making planning a challenge at times. Her home isn’t big but it isn’t small, and is covered in decorations and gifts. She loves her home quite a bit, and enjoys inviting friends to it. Lotus treats her home as her own personal temple, and makes sure that it remains very clean. Nothing is out of place on a regular day, and the only exceptions to such rules is when Lotus has been out celebrating and isn’t in her normal state of mind to keep her home clean.

Her home has and always will be at the resort. She loves it there, and if you ever wish to find her, you shall be able to at the resort. Hardly wandering far, as she feels she has no need to, and the only time you will see Lotus away from her home is if she is visiting neighbouring clans or friends who do not live on the resort.

When she does visit neighbouring clans, Lotus goes all out. She brings whatever gifts she sees fit, and fine silks to wear. Lotus always makes sure to learn the ways of the clan she visits, and study any sorts of holidays and celebrations they hold so that she may bring new celebrations to her clan.

Out of all the holidays Lotus partakes in, she loves Brightshine Jubilee the most due to the hype that not only surrounds her clan during the celebration, but all those in Light. Lotus always make sure to make the smaller festival held in her clan as exciting and fun as possible, and due to her high energy everyone else in her clan becomes more motivated, and almost everyone ends up helping out. Hatchlings make paper lanterns, Lotus makes sure everyone feels useful. The celebration of light is held all week, and while this makes her quite tired by the end of it, Lotus wouldn’t have it any other way. But she makes sure that her celebration is also respectful and honouring to the Lightweaver, and to always leave time every day to honour him.

Birthdays are also something Lotus loves to celebrate. The day a hatchling is born is one to rejoice in as well as when a dragon becomes older. She tends to lead in birthday celebrations, and while they’re generally very humble, she finds them lovely none the less. Lotus loves to watch as families bond with one another, and her clan members honour each other. To Lotus, birthdays are a celebration of life, and to celebrate them is something beautiful.

Lotus has been asked by those who visit her clan to come with them and start a new life with them, but Lotus refuses every single time, as she was born in this clan and will die in it too. She absolutely loves where she lives, and plans to serve her clan until she cannot, in which a happy retirement will be in her future.
