Biography
Corphrostia hails from the Viridian Labyrinth, at least as far as anyone is concerned, anyway. She has not changed much in the many years she has lived, besides her hide darkening into round markings and crystalline glittering. Strange, dark spines has also since broken through the skin on her backbone as she aged, but the Gladekeeper's magic keeps Plaguebringer's creation alive and perfectly well, save for those minuscule changes.
The mirror was once young and beautiful, and still is, to some degree. Younger dragons tend to find her a little frightening, since she has begun to don apparel made from the skulls of birds and their feathers. She has also managed to acquire specially commissioned metal bracelets and a necklace from the metalworkers in the clan, made to fit. They are made of a strange pearly metal that a few others also sport, and are simply wrought, but compliment her looks.
In her youth, she was one of the more popular dragons, but has since fallen out of that role. Not because she was forgotten, but because she no longer needs or wants it. The younger dragons can take that role.
Corphrostia still remembers the time when the clan used to contain a smattering variety of colorful mirrors. She was one of the more popular members of the large pack, who all obeyed the founders, because even if they weren't mirrors, they were still older and wiser than they were. And they were a clan, after all.
Over time, she became mates with a fae who came from a neighboring Light clan, and they began laying the first of many, many eggs. Sometimes, their children hatched out rather sickly, and those often died before much else happened. It was a sad affair, but thankfully it did not happen very often--now she always demands for fertility statues galore to be placed by her nests. Their earliest children found a few homes, but most decided to take up the task of being one of Lightweaver's attendants, and left the clan to join the scholarly masses living within shrines and memorials dedicated to Lightweaver.
As time went on, the clan began to grow more diverse. A large collection of meat eaters made meat in the area become rather scarce, so many mirrors moved on. Corphrostia and only a couple others stayed, however, and with time the clan again grew in number but not in mirrors, but rather other kinds of dragons. Skydancers breezed in on dainty paws, guardians strode in with thunderous crashes, and imperials and coatls wove their way into the daily lives of the clan with fervor.
Now she is one of the more elderly dragons of the Weyr, but she chooses not to wear anything symbolizing her age and wisdom. Instead, she keeps herself among the rest of her clanmates, pretending to be almost as young as the hatchlings. She and her mate Hysincor continue to make enlightening contributions to the Lightweaver's vast array of knowledge, along with the other dragons of the clan.
