There are rumors that travel on the breeze through the Highwall Stockade about Opal - dragons speaking in hushed whispers to one another, claiming that Opal isn't a true dragon at all. These quiet stories of a creature handcrafted by the Icewarden himself, an experiment to make a truly great hunter, are - of course - totally ridiculous. Probably.

Still, it's hard to deny that Opal is not much like your run-of-the-mill dragon. Her form is more beastly, her behavior more feral, her mind sharper. Despite all this, Opal is a remarkably intelligent dragon, and though she is gruff and defensive, she is incredibly driven and hardworking.

Perhaps she is aware of the rumors surrounding her, or perhaps there is a hint more truth to them than not, but Opal does not deny being sent by the Icewarden personally to do her job. Seeking out dragons, items, and places, Opal comes and goes constantly, sometimes for what seems like ages, only to return later on yet another task. She knows when to flee and when to fight, and she is talented at both. Because of this, she always finds her mark, and will never fail to drag her catch back to the frozen wastes of the south where they belong.
