Violet -  + Is the son of Spruce and Hazel. + Grew up collecting herbs and flowers. + Accidentally brought Fern home. + Became best friends with Fern. + Now they work together collecting.

Violet never really got to know his younger siblings. When he was still just a hatchling, they had already left the clan to explore the world. This action only worked to further estrange Violet from his siblings. He could never understand how they didn’t see the wonder and magic in the forest that they had been born in. To Violet, from the moment that he opened his eyes, there were endless possibilities and limitless secrets hidden in the winding pathways of the woods. Before Violet was ever able to help his mother with the potion making, he learned about the different plants and herbs from his father. Eager to learn, they explored across the different lands, travelling beyond the borders of Dragonhome. He consumed the new information that his father gave him, always looking forward to the next trip that his father took him on, but Violet always felt most comfortable within the shade and the lively sounds that accompanied the small forest. When he became knowledgeable enough, he began to learn how to make potions with his mother. On one particular day, Violet set off to begin collecting the herbs and plants needed by his mother to create more medicine. Though he usually traveled with his father, this was the first time that Violet would take the journey on his own. Because he was still too young to make long journeys by himself, he was ordered by his parents to stay within the forest when gathering herbs and plants. Nervous and determined to prove to his parents that he could be trusted with this responsibility, he became extremely focused on making sure he was collecting the right herbs. So much so, that he had set his sack full of herbs on the ground and stopped paying attention to it. On the flight back to the clan, Violet noticed that the bag seemed a little bit heavier than expected, but otherwise didn’t pay much mind to it. It was only when he landed, that the head of a Coatl hatchling popped up from the sack and gave a huge yawn. It turned out that the dragon had been using Violet’s sack as resting place the entire time. Embarrassed, he told his parents of what had happened, and it was decided that the small hatchling would be taken in by the clan and raised by his parents. As the Coatl, named Fern, grew up, Violet helped raise him, teaching Fern about all of the wonders that the forest contained. He told him about the hidden secrets that he had found and the insightful information on the different herbs that grew in the region. As soon as Fern grew old enough, he joined Violet and their father on their journeys to gather plants from outside their small world in the forest. Violet and Fern both work together to provide their mother with the proper ingredients needed for the different potions. They split the job between each other. Though Violet will occasionally travel to distant lands to gather the necessary herbs, he loves the comfort of the forest and prefers to stay there when he can. In his spare time, he loves to help his mother craft the medicinal potions and explore the many different pathways that twist through the woods.
