Jaenelle's intelligence, accepting attitude, and talent for languages make her perfect for her role as the clan's ambassador to friendly and neutral beastclans. She has to travel quite a bit, since many beastclan groups don't trust dragons enough to come to dragon lairs. Her familiar goes with her everywhere, and eases some of that mistrust just by his presence, even though he's not truly a member of any beastclan himself. She also travels with her mate Warlord, who refuses to let her go on uncertain diplomatic missions alone. She doesn't spend all her time away, however. There are some beastclan groups who do trust the Enclave, as well as some individuals who have chosen to live with the clan, largely due to her efforts. While at the Enclave, she often spends her days near the river, where maren can find her if they want to. This leads her to spend a lot of time with Yumoto, who likes to bathe and splash around. She likes Yumoto, and is one of the few people in the clan to see him as an adult and an equal, despite how he acts. She likes music and learning about all kinds of different cultures. The historical society that many of the scholars study, the cultures of different flights, and the beastclans' societies are all fascinating to her. She especially loves beastclan music, and is forever trying to figure out ways to sing and play instruments the same way herself. Despite her appearance, she isn't the most discerning about clothes. She lets Warlord pick them out for her every day. She doesn't care one way or another, and it makes him happy. He has a Thing about fashion, but is too worried about protecting her to drape himself in flowers and silks.
