Biography

Carnelisk

(Under Construction!!!)
Carnelian
The Matron
"Oh, I love having hatchlings around the lair. There's nothing more adorable than fluffy little Coatl bellies or watching a Veilspun learn to flutter. Except maybe those big clumsy paws Obelisk hatchlings waddle around on!"

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Who is Carnelian?

Easily the most well-loved member of the clan, Carnelian is a kind, big-hearted creature with gentle words and a strong will. Despite her kindness, many young dragons quickly learn that she is far from a pushover, and though she never seems to truly get angry at anyone, she knows how to posture and throw her social weight around when the situation calls for it. A natural caretaker, she is the sort to fret over dragons not feeling well, and is typically the one other concerned dragons go to when a prickly dragon is trying to hide their illnesses or turmoil.

Quite the socialite, Carnelian loves to engage in conversation, often gossiping about the achievements of dragons who were or are under her care. She is willing to talk or listen to just about anyone regarding just about anything, and takes the personal matters of her peers very seriously when they confide in her.

Place in the Parade

Carnelian is the primary caretaker of the clan. While most dragons tend to raise their own young, the migratory nature of the Night Parade combined with the specialist occupations of the various breeds leaves little time for proper hatching education and care. As such, there are few dragons in the clan that haven't been sung a lullaby, taught to speak and write, or had their favorite snack given by Carnelian. She specializes in the care of very young hatchlings, however; the complex educational matters that come with learning magic, religion, alchemy, and the like are deferred to other tenders of the clan.

Carnelian's word carries weight as dragons come of age; she is often the one to suggest the sort of education and occupations they pursue, based on their interests as a growing hatchling. She has an intimate understanding of the social climate of the clan, and can quickly tell if a dragon would be better off being exalted to the Plaguebringer rather than suffer the rough, migratory life of the Parade.

Paranormal Activity

Carnelian doesn't use her magic that often, but when she does, it's to aid and assist herself and those around her. Naturally, producing various forms of light is a breeze for her, making dark nights a little less frightening for hatchlings. Additionally, she uses her ability to manipulate light to create simple illusions, often illustrating the stories she tells young hatchlings to teach them morals and imagination. She also bears a limited healing ability, able to mend minor cuts and scrapes without needing to defer to the clan medics.

Familiarized
Conflagrant Ambassador

Although Sard has a somewhat intimidating appearance, the manticore is very calm and patient when dealing with dragons. While not exactly friendly, he has a feline nature and will make it very clear when he desires to be left alone. Despite this, he is very curious about the development of dragons, and can often be seen trailing after Carnelian or her wards, questioning what they think and why they behave the way they do. Many older members of the clan suspect the creature is a spy, but he has proven many a time that he is willing to put his bestial strength and painful venom to use protecting Carnelian's hatchlings like a dog to a flock of sheep. He just doesn't enjoy doing it.

Exalting Carnelian to the service of the Plaguebringer will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
