Airut Class: Treasure Hunter Home: Leviathan Trench Bio: Airut's main desire in life is to seek out and discover all the mysteries of the world. Treasures untold, forgotten artifacts, hidden battlegrounds. Living within the Leviathan Trench, he's found many things that he's reported to the archaeological society within The Sea of a Thousand Currents. His home is a deep, remote part of the trench where he stores anything that isn't of large historical importance. While he's not a good home decorator, many dragons who visit his home are still impressed by the gold and treasures that dot the various sections of his home. Every time there's a buzz about a new potential discovery he flies as fast as his wings can take him, gathering information on the area and what he's looking for. Although races between hunters happen often, he never gets angry at losing unless someone cheats. Previous Assignment: The word was out! An ancient treasure ready to be discovered, a map hidden by a clan for generations, hunters scouring the cove and digging up every grain of sand. The thrum of excitement running through your scales, the thrill of the hunt driving you on... Airut loves nothing better. It's time for him to try his claws at this treasure. Like so many others, he receives a copy of the map and scours it relentlessly, marking down every detail that might be important. Several hunters attempted to team up with him but he makes his way across the cove, doesn't want to join up with others. He's tried it before, somehow it always devolves into squabbles or someone wants a larger share. Or they don't want to give up their share at all. Much easier to simply go it alone and avoid the hassle. Throughout the Saturnalia he digs through the sand, swims through the cool cove waters, and chats with the fish that have lived here for generations. They have many things to say, if you listen. And listen he did. Bits of treasure are found, some coins and a statue or two, but he's sure it's nowhere near as glorious as the full treasure would be. One day his claws catch on something at the bottom of the cove floor, somewhere along a strong current. Strong enough to slowly nudge a chest or two, or an entire treasure trove, along the floor over decades. Sure enough, when he hauls the item out of the water after long hours of struggling against current and gravity, he determines it to be an ancient-looking chest. Long rusted lock and barely-together copper plating. A quick strike to the lock allows him to break it, peering inside and.... Darkness. He awakes to the night sky, soft seagull chirps, and no treasure. Someone stole his treasure, taken the claim for themselves, and made a fortune off selling it to the highest bidder. Someone who will pay. Aftermath: Stealing treasure is unforgivable, the finder should be the one to receive credit for the find. It should also be given to those who can put it somewhere it can be shown off to the world, sharing the history of the world and the people it came from. Airut searches in his off time for where the treasure went, finding not a claw or scale of the perpetrator. But he will find them in time, he has a knack not just for finding treasure but finding those that don't want to be found...
