Nighith
A Guardian At Heart

"No, I'm not afraid if you're leaving me. I'm afraid if you accidentally trip and hurt yourself..."
Deep in his heart, Nighith had always expected to be exalted and to become a warrior. However, he ended up courting a Tundra in Sunbeam Ruins. The two of them had three eggs, which all hatched into healthy dragons. For a time, he thought he found a home. Then, he was sent to another clan in the Starfall Isles. Nighith never found out why he was sent away. All he knew and thought to do was move on.

Eventually he found himself in Storm Catcher's domain. Nighith rested and lived in apathy. He only did what was necessary for him and the clan to get by. Soon after his arrival, that changed. He met several dragons who changed his perspective. One of them was a strange Pearlcatcher named Paradise. She was considered odd due to her nature and her appearence. She'd often look for someone to speak to around noon, because of Nighith's quiet and tolerant demeanor, she sought after him.

Now, it wasn't love at first sight but after a while Nighith became used to her and even began to admire her. To Paradisde, it seemed ironic that a nature dragon would fall for a plague. This sometimes became a topic of conversation, much to his distaste. Some time later they became mates. Both of them expected to live for a long time in the Shifting Expanse, until a famine struck.

The clan disbanded, leaving a single pair behind that were too loyal to go. To Nighith's relief, Paradise planned to stay with him. Unfortunately, she forced him to agree to move to the Scarred Wasteland with her. A place where he had hoped never to step foot on. The guardian had heard of he insanities that come from it. Luckily, they found another place to live, Mount Eurus in the Tangled Wood.

Nighith is a little insecure and superstitious. He takes seemingly random omens and "reads" them as some sort of sign. This caused others to believe him to be paranoid. Though some have gone as far as calling him crazy. From his first heartbreak, Nighith is still a softie and demands to oversee Paradiase in all her work. This is something another guardian could relate to and decided to put him as a guard for the nesting grounds, where his mate worked.

Contrary to what the other guardian assumed, Nighith disliked being around hatchlings. He has refused to admit why. Even Paradiase couldn't get him to tell her. It took a long while for him to even tolerate them walking towards him. Sadly, this bonding was immediately reversed when his daughter MoonShimmer went missing. Now he keeps his distances as far as possible from the hatchlings, but close enough to protect them when the time comes.

His charge is a small dried rose from the Sunbeam Ruins. A memento from his previous life, and all the bitter-sweet memories.
