Since she was little, strange things tended to happen around Aeza. Plants would suddenly grow to enormous heights, random objects would burst into flames, and when someone hurt her, they'd get sick - really sick, and almost always they would be dead by morning.

It wasn't until one male, a horrible person that had played on her emotions, fed her lies and helped her control her magic. Only to reveal he did all that because her magic was strong, stronger than any other witch he'd encountered. She had summoned something, an evil, vile being that had slaughtered the entire clan. They'd all known what that dragon had been doing, but they needed her. Needed her to be a soldier, a mindless slave for them.

Aeza had fled the area and stumbled upon a warm, welcoming clan that opened her eyes to the beauties of life. Cupid had showed her what herbs to use for spells and medicines, Crixx had shown her how to fight with tooth and claw, and she learned how to hide and disguise herself from the shadowy dragons that lurked at the edges of the clan.

Here, no one used her, here, she could be safe and far from the things she had done with her magic.

But the thing she'd summoned, the being that had killed the horrid clan for her? It still followed her, curling around her feet when she read her books, throwing items across her den when she ignored it. The creature did nothing without her say so - it wasn't so vile anymore, but she could feel bitterness coming from it, coming from her.
