Her background is unknown, as she has never shared it with anyone. Those that she trusts enough to visit her lair are always astounded by small signs of beauty here and there that hint to her childhood in the peaceful and pleasant wind realm. Most significantly, her room is always filled with flowers, and the jars that contain them adorn every available space in her abode.

Achlys uses sorcery to protect the clan from beastclan and rival clan incursions. She is willing to use the darkest magic known to Sornieth when necessary. She is tenacious - once she has a goal or objective she will never give up, even long past the point of sanity. One of her magical strengths is tracking, which is particularly useful when hunting down traitors or escaping enemies.

In greek mythology Achlys was the Mist of Death, which fell before the eyes preceding death, and the first created being which existed even before Chaos. According to Hesiod, she was the personification of misery and sadness. The plant genus Achlys has the common name "sweet after death."
