Delapidate is an interesting case. His body is decaying, slowly and little by little. That is where his new name comes from as well. No one remembers his old name, and that is what the former paladin prefers.

Delapidate was once honourable paladin of a Light-Arcane church that worshipped the Sun and it was their mission to protect it from Sköll. An ancient wolf that sought to devour their sun. One day Delapidate chased that beast all the way across Sornieth to the badlands surrounding their home. He chased the wolf to a cave, to the cave where Delapidate met it.

A gigantic arachnoid staring at him with its thousand eyes, whispering sweet nothings to his ears as he stood paralyzed. Delapidate didn't even notice how the small minions weaved their webs around him, brown webs and silk covering his body in a new hide. Changing his body for the better. While Delapidate lost the ability to fly, but he gained an ability to climb up any surface like a spider.

Delapidate didn't return to his home, he had joined the spider. He covered his face and found a new life. A new life full of adventure and thrill, and no more chasing some stupid mutt.
