- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Kyu has always been a bit more sensitive to the other side. She could experience things other dragons couldn't. Strange visions would come to her, along with odd dreams through her fitful sleep. Kyu had never been scared by it. In fact, the supernatural intrigued her. However, there was one time Kyu found herself truly frightened. One fateful night, Kyu received an omen. She foresaw great destruction, and a chilling message to the young spiral. 'Leave this place if you want to live.' The fear took hold of Kyu like none other. That very night, the young wyrm packed her belongings and fled into the bitter cold. She continued, farther than she'd ever traveled before, until the chills she'd felt finally faded. Her travels lead her to the Windswept Plateau. Kyu wrote:
"I still remember that vision I had. It was so life-like, even just thinking about it still gives me this awful feeling in the pit of my stomach.
In that vision, there was a giant crater in the ground. There was this dark liquid bubbling deep inside the crater. I remember seeing all these dragons lined up around the edge. It was hard to see them because there was a snowstorm in the area. But, if I squinted my eyes, I could see the dragons throwing things into the crater. Every time something was thrown in, the liquid would get darker and darker... I just had this extremely strong feeling that something was very wrong; if they continued throwing things in, then something terrible was going to happen. I tried to stop them, but I was stuck to the spot. No matter how much I shouted, they couldn't hear me. They kept throwing things in. The liquid had gotten so dark that it became pitch black. And then, all of a sudden, these creatures-- I don't even know what they were --started to climb out of the crater. It was like they were made out of the liquid. They started to attack the dragons... I-It was so terrible. Everything they touched ended up turning into that liquid. Soon, all of the dragons had been turned. And I just knew that I was next. When I came out of that vision, all I knew was that I had to leave. I don't know if that vision was a metaphor for the future or if it was of the literal future, but I did not want to wait around to find out. I left that place immediately." Kyu joined a new clan after several months of living on her own. The Dry Winds Guild was impressed by her psychic powers, so they offered her a place within the guild. Kyu quickly became an assistant of Ark's library because of her impressive knowledge of curses. She can safely remove curses from books without damaging them. After one unfortunate blunder, Kyu accidentally awoke a spirit sealed away in the mines beneath the guild's lair. Thankfully, they'd managed to calm it down, but Kyu still feels responsible for the entire calamity and acts as the spirit's guardian.
