"Oh, Watcher, Shadow, Harbinger of Death; spare me."
Chimera Fangs
Bone Fragments
Haunting Houndskull

Bluestone is a very quiet yet observant dragon. They serve as the Windways scout, that patrols the territory with a thousand eyes, a watcher for intruders and friends alike. Nothing escapes their senses; they know the instant a dragon has set foot on their grounds, and they have no hesitation in pinning and interrogating unwelcome strangers. She knows when someone lies to her, and if that lie covers intentions to harm her clan, she will deal with the foe swiftly before any of the Windways Warriors even know they were there.

She does not kill --- not anymore, and not if it isn't necessary. But the ruthless, calculated injuries she will bestow will leave nobody in doubt of her abilities. Even the warriors of her clan, the ones that know she is on their side, are a bit intimidated by her and the way she carries herself.

The frosty nature most dragons have towards her does not bother Bluestone. Let the hatchlings scramble out of her path; let the warriors stiffen when she silently appears by their side; let visiting strangers hurry off when she reveals herself. She has a duty to defend her clan and it is not one she takes lightly.

MINOR BACKSTORY DETAILS
- Kidnapped before she even hatched, she has no idea where she came from or who her original family was.
- She was trained relentlessly in an underground crime organization throughout her youth. Her mentor and the organization's leader, Janus, served as her mentor and primary abuser.
- By the time she was a teen, she was already an established assassin and had taken out many hits for the organization.
- Eventually, she defected; she disliked being under their control and knew she was worth more.
- This infuriated Janus, who sent multiple bounty hunters and other assassins within the organization after her; when none of them returned, he hunted her himself.
- Their fight was swift and brutal. Bluestone escaped, but was gravely injured.
- She was found bleeding out on the edge of the Wind Region, and the Windways Clan took her in and nursed her back to health.
- Bluestone swore a debt to them and has remained there as a scout ever since.

PERSONALITY
- Very quiet; doesn't speak unless they have to.
- Unwavering.
- Thick-skinned.
- Indifferent and emotionally detached most of the time.
- Not easily intimidated.
- Incredibly observant and perceptive.
- Has a dark sense of humor.

PHYSICAL
- Covered from head to toe in scars.
- Quite small and very bulky.
- Rarely puts her hood back; she prefers to keep her face hidden.

RELATIONS
- Best friends with Jayce. While the loud and dramatic skydancer may seem like an odd choice, they carry an understanding with him due to their respectable dark pasts. Jayce will often join her on patrol, and she in turn will often join him in his silent vigils of stargazing.
- Highly respects Azza and Hilario. She always addresses them very formally, despite their protests.
- Well aware that her Captain, Glakila, is unnerved by her, but doesn't care that much.
- Affectionately referred to as "Auntie" by Arzos, Azuolas, and Ash; while she doesn't react to this, it secretly pleases her.

OTHER
- Highly trained in combat and stealth; mainly operates in ambushes and quick hand-to-hand combat, accompanied by her cleaver as a backup weapon.
- While they are not particularly trained in magic, she has always had a connection to the Water Flight's inclination in divination. Each night she spends time to meditate (usually in or near water) to connect to the world and gain a sense of things to come. It may be a part of her uncanny ability to always know when someone comes into Windways territory.
- Neutral on the subject of killing; while she does not enjoy it, it also does not bother her that much. It makes her a good hunter for the clan.
- Walks in absolute silence, which is unnerving to some of the others within the clan.

BACKSTORY
water_rune_20.png
Bluestone was trained in the depths of the underground world from the moment she hatched from her egg. She learned how to kill, so that her first memories were always of blood and bone and flesh. And when she came of age, she’d already earned herself many names.

The Blue Shadow. The Watcher. The Harbinger of Death.

She was the most efficient assassin in all the regions. If someone wanted someone else dead, they went to her, and she in turn would reduce her target to nothing before they were even aware she was following them in the first place. Her reputation was such in her world that other assassins fled in mute terror at any sign of her passing – something she did not discourage, despite her strict self-code that discouraged killing simply for killings sake – as Bluestone did not enjoy the company of others. They existed as a blank space – a being dedicated to the next hit, whoever they may be, that carried out the jobs as swiftly and brutally as a soulless machine.

It came as such that she defected from her old grounds. She disowned her loyalty to her organization and became a free-lancer, one more desired in terms of death than any underground mob put together of killers and thieves. Bluestone was not one to follow orders any longer – she knew she was too powerful, too skilled, for that.

Many dragons attempted hits on her for her disloyalty, but none got past her senses. They were no match for her, and she did not treat any of them kindly, even if they were past partners that she’d trained alongside. None could master her, it seemed, except for her mentor, the one that had stolen her as a hatchling and raised her, trained her. He was displeased, angered by her desertion. He wanted her back, and what he wanted, he got.

What he got instead was a vicious and quick fight. One that left him emptyhanded and Bluestone bleeding out on the borders of Windways Clan territory. There she was found, recovered, and nursed back to health. And despite the evidence of her kind – of her bloodied cleaver, her stained armor – none within the plucky little clan pried or turned her away.

That is what convinced Bluestone to stay. Bluestone would repay the life-debt she owed the Windways Clan, even if the leaders were adamant that she owed no such thing. She understood the workings of the world through the underground, however, and would not leave herself in debt to any dragon, even those as honorable and kind as the Windways Clan.

So she stayed. She scouted and protected them. She turned away foes that threatened the existence of the peaceful clan, ones that could have torn them apart if they had not taken one look at the former assassin and been convinced to never turn a single eyelash towards the Wind Region again. And by the time her debt had been paid, Bluestone found she no longer wished to leave.

The loyalty of Bluestone to the Windways Clan was truer than she’d held to the organization that had made her. She was the Windways Watcher, their Shadow, their Harbinger of Death. In it, she found dragons that accepted her. They did not pry of her past, did not press her on her uncanny abilities, nor did they hasten her to explain her past organization and the threat they may present if they came after her again. Instead, they let her patrol and hunt, offered her a place among them, and finally, showed her what a true clan could be.
