Clan Role:
Carver. Instead of using his mighty claws for hunting, he uses them to carve wood and clay. Yes, he carves with his feet. Because he can. Nebula is one of the clan's many craftsdragons. Or craftscreatures rather, if you include all the Beastclan who also enjoy perfecting their arts. Nebula has a particular knack for carving, and uses his talent for commissions on sculptures, wooden stamps, seals, and decorations on furniture or signage. Instead of using a mallet and chisel like any sane carver, however, he uses the long, sharp, sickle claws on his feet. For this reason, he keeps a foot-bath kit set up in his carving shed to make sure his feet are clean when working. He also keeps his carving claws carefully manicured. Since he also loves to read and cuddle with his mate Fuwafuwa in the blanket forts that she builds, he's taken to using soft claw covers when doing so to make sure his claws don't snag or tear any fabric. Fuwafuwa will sometimes steal these claw covers when he's not looking to paint funny faces or random animals on them. Needless to say, he's not the most "macho" Wildclaw of the clan, but somehow no one really seems to mind. Even his mother, Baragwanathia, the most accomplished hunter of the clan, can't help but smile when she stops by for a visit to see his head poking out of a pile of pillows. Things were not always smooth between him and his mother. It was never because of his lack of interest in hunting, but oddly and sadly enough, in his mother's own inner struggle over her perceived capabilities. He was confused when she left his father, and when his father in turn left to serve under the deities so suddenly. But he was already off on his own, in a new lair, by the time he heard the news. He had no idea how poorly his mother was doing until she wound up in his clan out of the blue. It was difficult for him to talk to her for a long time - he had many questions, and he wanted to understand, but she seemed to feel too ashamed to open up to him. When Leviathan came along and started to crack open his mother's shell, Nebula began to see many sides to her he'd never seen before. She was eventually able to sit down and talk with her son, and mend the gap that had existed between them for so long. Because of this, Nebula has also become close to his stepfather Leviathan, and encourages his mother to be confident and open. |
