Biography
Art by Cherri!
Kylo started his coli training with Athena--a sweet-natured and generous dragon--and Redsun, who was dealing with a bad breakup by throwing himself into coli like never before. Redsun mostly ignored Kylo and Athena tried to protect him. Not surprisingly, Kylo resented both of them. It wasn't until North agreed to take him into the Mire for training that he got a real taste of fighting.
Kylo treated the gruff and taciturn North with reverence. North was baffled at the imp's devotion to him but didn't mind it since Kylo also worked hard to improve his battle skills. Secretly North was amused at how much apparel Kylo wears. When the imp is knocked out by a monster, he practically disappears inside his clothes.
North: |
North's injury in the Mire and subsequent retirement shocked Kylo. He thought his mentor was more or less invulnerable. He stepped into the role as Mire trainer with trepidation mixed with pride. In the evenings after his day's training, Kylo would visit North and his mate Atropa. North was eager to discuss the imp's day, and Kylo soon felt more at home in the pair's den than he did in his own. But Kylo barely had time to get used to being the clan's primary trainer when North and Atropa decided to leave the clan. North's injury had healed badly, leaving him with chronic pain and reduced mobility. He and Atropa chose to go serve the Lightweaver, knowing that the goddess would heal North and welcome him and Atropa among her divine warriors. |
Once they were gone, Kylo was bereft. He felt he had lost his parents all over again. He began to show signs of becoming reclusive, and pushed himself too hard in the Mire in honor of his mentor. It was Athena who gently but persistently broke through Kylo's grief to befriend him. He is still standoffish, but takes fewer risks. He and Athena have long talks about philosophy, although Kylo never notices that he's mostly the one who's talking. Recently Ellise recruited Kylo to act as one of the clan's nesting ground guards. He still sometimes fights in the Mire, but these days he is much more likely to be patrolling the nesting grounds. He is training a couple of likely candidates to take his place as the clan's Mire dragon. |
