origins.

Cygnet had a terrible relationship with the brood she hatched with. They were growing and learning as a group while she was left alone to fend for herself. The struggle always lay with communication, where the other dragons were learning to sing and speak to each other in their own languages, she could only honk gracelessly. She knows exactly what she’s trying to say, but because she’s mute, she struggles with conveying that to other people. With lack of socialization, she has grown attentive to minute details and can appreciate the art of working out the most finicky details of anything. From a young age she could be found trying to build something out of nothing, tucked away in a safe space.

For the longest time she spent her time and energy trying her hardest to communicate with other dragons who barely tried to understand her. For this reason she took to tinkering with a dedication and fire few had ever seen. She spent long hours immersed in the craft, weeks pulled away from her siblings. First it was small toys, then it was prosthetics for other dragons and now it’s pretty much anything she sets her mind to. It’s funny how once you’ve mastered the art of combining robotics with magic, people start listening to what you have to share. In this new clan, she’s found a comfortable home full of dragons who attentively watch her sign and who are learning to understand her. With security comes growth, and now with her new family providing her the safety and warmth she needs, she has grown to new heights with her crafting. Her next hurdle, for the first time, is only as serious as deciding what her next project will be. - babieca
