Insomnia recalls the last conversation shared with her lost love as she sits besides the entrance of crypt, the cool breeze soothing her skin. If only you had known, she thinks to herself, light green eyes following along as Marchesa hunts after a small rabbit a few yards away. She did her best to keep her eyes open, as the visions haunted her even now, even in the light of day.
"One day, it'll make sense."
"What will?"
"The way that I am, Indie."
"That's quite vague."
Perhaps she should have been more honest, more open. Perhaps she should have faced him, told him then and there, I've seen you die. Maybe things would have changed, maybe he'd still be beside her, begging her to sleep. Or maybe things would be just as they are now. Lonely. Cold.
"I love you. I hope you know that. Despite how absent I can be. I truly do love you."
"I know, darling. I know. And you know I love you too."
"Then stay, just today. Please."
"I can't, you're aware of that. Magdalena wouldn't have it."
"Lie, then. I'm desperate."

She still can't sleep. Not in the dead of night, not at dusk, nor dawn. Only when her body cannot stand it any longer does Insomnia finally dream. And how worth it that sleep is, because it is the only time that she can see her sweet again. It is the only time he can keep his promise.
