Biography

"They say beauty is fleeting, but I can make it last forever."

Some dragons hoard gold and jewels, some hoard precious trinkets of other kinds, paintings, or shimmering scales. Nafadel, on the other hand, hoards flowers. Petunias, snapdragon, lilies and clematis. If there’s a flower out there that’s been discovered, Nafadel has it in her hoard.

But flowers are fragile, you say, and cannot last forever. Part of their beauty is their fleeting nature, and eventually they must die. It’s simply the circle of life. Fortunately for Naf, there are ways around this.

Along with the flowers, she collects old, heavy books. Between their pages, she presses thousands of petals. Each day, fresh petals are pressed between paper and ink until they’re finally dried. Her entire nest is full of these dried petals, and she loves nothing more than to roll around in them, inhaling the sweet scent. It’s something of an oddity amongst the clan, but Nafadel doesn’t mind. She just enjoys herself.

In particular, she prefers to collect those plants and flowers that are usually considered poisonous to eat and therefore avoided by dragons. She finds the beauty in these toxic plants and gives them a place in her hoard.

Naf keeps to herself for the most part. She’s not a very social dragon, and she doesn’t like to talk to others if she can help it. So, she spends her time in the forest collecting flowers, or alone with her hoard. She also enjoys painting, and has taken on a project recently. Each time she collects a new flower, she paints a picture of it before she presses it between the pages of her book. This way she’ll always have a memory of how it looked in its prime.
