The Starmaker was proud of her mate with this newest clutch. Rarely did she find it in her to hold a nest of many eggs, yet he had cared for her and raised two delightful hatchlings. This, their pride and joy, was the more delighted of the two. He found his gift brought smiles to others, and as he had been bade, made it his quest to bring those smiles to others. Perhaps he could use this power in new ways- the stars were not always for the future, after all. His gift was slower to manifest than in his fellows. While they had gathered starlight within hours or days of their hatching, it was not until he had grown into a full adult that he called the light to his claws. His stars were smaller, his power much less refined, but it was a gift nonetheless. As with his siblings, his calling took him far away from his home clan- he wanted to do good in the world, just like his family before him had. But some part of him ached to find a place where he could belong. Being alone left him feeling rather despondent. Had he disappointed the Arcanist in some way? |
His eagerness to please is second to none. If there is one thing in all of Sornieth that pleases this dragon, it is the smile he can bring to another's face. As such, he can often become overwhelmed with his desire to bring delight to everyone around him. His claws seek to remain peacefully in the dirt- no, this Imperial does not wish to fly. He would much rather settle in and cast his light above than join it in its revelry. But that does not mean he is all that level headed- no, he can be taken by optimism and dreaming. The Starmaker's role is to bring light to shadowed lands. In this, he is successful in many ways. His stars are everything stars must be, and his attitude illuminates the despondent and brings them back to the light. But as with all dragons, he finds him struggling in many ways. His duty often brings him into contact with those who might make war or use his stars for those things which harm others. He is resolute that his stars will help and heal, not cause pain, which can bring him into conflict he would rather avoid. But he has been given this task by the Arcanist's own- and he will prevail. |
