Magma works with Isle in Scorchtalon Engineering as well as blacksmithing. kinda winry rockbell sort of thing

incredibly artistic and very dedicated to her work, loves crafting weapons and armour, and demand is high at the moment. works with mecha as a job but side hustles dragon-size pieces too. well known outside of the shop- her work isn't famous per say but it is definitely popular with those who have an interest in such things. because her interest lies in things like weapons, her objects like wheel rims and agricultural implements are still sturdy but certainly not created with as much love as the swords are.

has trouble working some days due to chronic fatigue and depression. friends with Hiraeth, who struggles with similar things, as well as Gemini, since he helps with medication. they've had low points in their life but are still glad to be alive. they were friends with Orca before she passed, and was friends with Orca's widower Ewan before he moved.

Magma's ex husband is Spruce; they were partners for a long time though they never shared a den (Magma prefers to have her own space and often slept at work anyway). she didn't like being near him with 'romance' as a pressure between them, and frankly he didn't either, so they broke it off. they're still friends, though Magma feels awkward being around him. perhaps it would be easier if they didn't have children between them. either way, she's glad she's certain she likes women now.

the only one still living near them is Scorch but Magma was never the hovering type of parent and is rather scatterbrained, so all her children grew to be more independent to deal with it. Spruce didn't want the parenting job, and Magma didn't either, so it was mostly up to family friends and childcare workers. Magma didn't mind spending time with her children- and now only Scorch- but Magma has a full-time job and didn't think she was the right sort of dragon to be a parent. that didn't stop her from having children, though. she hasn't given much thought to her absence in her kid's lives.

Magma is often confusing and vague in her speech, if she's verbal at all, resulting in her generally needing other dragons to talk to clients while she does her work in the background. if you were hoping to have a conversation with the mecha engineer, you'll have to hope she's in a less foggy mood. she doesn't talk much to dragons besides those she's close to because of her tendency to start a conversation and then abruptly end it or swing in another direction; while not necessarily embarrassed by her apparent lack of disinterest in conversation, she views it as preferring to not subject other dragons to her odd speech patterns. she knows a few signs and uses them when she can't speak aloud. a lot less energetic than most spirals, but is still very fidgety and struggles to focus on anything she doesn't want to do
