그의 부모인 '전대 타나토스'와는 달리 포악한 성격을 가지고 태어났다. 그는 두번째의 출산으로 세상에 나왔는데, 첫번째의 아이들은 '죽음의 신'의 조건에 맞지 않아 ?들에게 죽임을 당했다. 그리고 두번째의 출산으로 같이 나온 그의 형은 그에게 목이 졸려 죽었다. 신의 조건에 맞는 아이가 둘이기 때문이었다. 원래라면 큰 후에 여러 능력을 시험당하고 둘중에 하나가 신의 자리에 올랐겠지만 그것을 기다릴만큼 그의 성격은 좋지 못했다. 그리고 그와 닮은 사람이 바로 옆에 존재한다는 사실이 그의 신경을 몹시 거슬리게 만들었다. 그렇기 때문에 그는 어린나이에 그보다 훨씬 컸던 형을 누구보다 여리고 작은 손으로 목 졸라 죽였다. 그것이 그의 첫 살인... 아니, 죽음의 신으로서의 자각이었다. 그런 그를 주위의 누구도 탓하지 못한다. 오히려 부모인 '전대 타나토스 '보다 확실한 신의 자각에 그를 떠받들기 바쁘다. 이러한 환경 속에서 그는 자신의 부모마저 추방시키고. 신, 타나토스의 자리에 오른다.




그가 추방시킨, 신이었던 그의 아버지와 비슷한 모습을 취하고 있다. 이것이 마냥 아버지를 존경했다는 의미를 가지진 않는다. 그가 두르고 있는 피붕대에 묻은 피는 그 자신의 피가 아니다. 그가 피를 흘린 모습을 본 자가 있는지 조차 의심스럽다.
