Along with Zethyria, Ahti is one of the guards of the lair. He also was one of the first dragons that Faulen herself trained. Similar to Zethyria, Ahti is very large and scary despite his best attempts not to be. He is bit more quiet than Zethyria and rather reserved, which provides a good balance to her rather impulsive and blunt nature. When he does speak, his voice is a deep, growly bass which tends to scare stranger dragons into leaving (if Zethyria doesn’t chase them off by the time he decides to speak) which is rather unfortunate since he’s actually a huge softie. Dragons younger than him go to him for advice often enough that he has unofficially been dubbed the father figure of the lair.

Just like Zethyria, Ahti's elemental prowess is rather lacking, causing him to rely more on physical attacks than on elemental ones. As a result, he does not have a strong ability for divination. He tries not to let it get him down, but he often avoids speaking to other water dragons in fear of being jeered at for having a weak sixth sense. Luckily, he isn’t the only one; Kiko and Meri, the two other water dragons, also do not have very strong divination skills. Because of this, he often hangs around the other Guardians when Zethyria and Dezin are not around.

Dezin, Ahti and Zethyria are all considered mates to one another, but Zethyria only breeds with Dezin as Ahti is incapable of breeding. However, don't get confused; Ahti and Zethyria's relationship isn't merely platonic. If you spend enough time around the three of them (enough time being five minutes) then you will see an abundance of head bumping, neck hugging and grooming amongst the trio, even between the two males.
