Viodia was born into a clan that resided very near The Behemoth, in the heart of The Viridian Labyrinth. But at the time, the clan was in a period of unrest. New rulers were forcing their way into power and thinning out the ranks of the clan, getting rid of anyone that didn't support them. The new hatchlings were found to be a nuisance amongst the bustle. Many were essentially orphaned as parents were being forced away without a chance to gather their minds or their families. Her father was once such case, exiled from their domain. Her mother stayed with the clan, changing as needed to maintain her status. But when all was said and done, despite wanting to raise their hatchlings as her own, the new leader said no. The new leader thought that these hatchlings could sway her loyalties. Being the offspring of an exile, they were sent out from the clan, sold to the highest bidder to help raise clan funds. Viodia's mother was heartbroken, but didn't have the spirit left to fight against it.

Viodia spent some time in the Sunbeam Ruins with her new clan. She couldn't remember her birthclan, though she heard the stories. Within her new clan, she was treated as a slave. She wasn't born to them. Wasn't the same as them. They treated her poorly, expressing their superiority. They made her "beautiful," in their eyes. But in reality, she saw it as yet another way they showed their power over her. When she was full-grown, they pierced clasps and decorative ornaments through her wings, and added chains to them. These chains connected to cuffs welded on around her arms, and her wrists, ankles, and tail. Even on her face they clasped on things of "beauty." She agreed, she was beautiful. But she knew the real reason behind them. They weighed her down, restricted her movement just enough to try to discourage her from fighting them. All the while, making her just attractive enough to be able to stay in their presence. Fighting back her tears, she went on. One day, though, she couldn't take it anymore, and she fled from her "home" and lived as a wanderer.

She had considered going to the Ashfall Waste in hopes of finding someone to remove the gold that now adorned her. But she always decided against it. She knew that her former clan would be looking for her. And if her clanmates thought the same way as her, she didn't want to meet them there. Maybe down the road, she decided. But first, she needed to find somewhere new to live. She wandered through many lands, learning along the way. She grew wise and strong.

One day in the Windswept Plateau, a massive storm was brewing. She started heading to her shelter, but could hear cries coming from within the storm. Assuming someone was in trouble, she instead went to their aid instead of finding safety for herself. She found a whole clan trying to navigate through the winds. She helped to guide them out to safety, and invited them to stay with her. Evenyl, the leader of the clan, was so grateful to her. After they rested a few days, she invited her to stay with their clan. Evenyl explained that they were coming from the Starwood Strand in Arcane territory, but they were looking for somewhere less crowded to live. Viodia thought long and hard. Together, they decided to head for Ice domain, where there were less dragons.

Together they went. Viodia displayed great leadership skills along the way, and the rest of the clan were impressed. Upon finding where they would like to live, Evenyl retired her title as leader to Viodia, expressing that in this new home, they needed a younger, stronger leader. Viodia tried to turn it down, but everyone was so excited that she finally gave in. She spends a lot of time on her own when she's not doing more leader-like activities. She has never told her clan of her past, and never settled with a mate. She loves her new clan, but if her past ever comes to haunt her, she will do whatever it takes to keep her clanmates safe, even if that means leaving them and becoming a loner once again.
