Biography

The Uncrowned Queen

wip: add format/ art?
Scales lustrous, wings radiant, mane glossy. Amity, as any Pearlcatcher, takes pride in her looks and sees herself a pinnacle of Light's acolyte. Vain would she be if she were not so generous. She gives much more without question whether it be guidance, refuge, or homage.

Although she often appears garbed humbly, Amity claims to be royalty. She admits she is not blue blooded but had gained the respects of royal families all around; her parents had been known to associate among nobility while they were upon the land before being exalted. Their good graces followed Amity and when she bore children they often became part of noble and royal families themselves. She is welcomed in many places in the Ruins because of her kindness, dedication, and long made connections. She has always been able to remain on neutral ground when it came to political matters though it hadn't been easy. Quite a feat considering the constantly reassured egos and images that the company around her often tried to keep up. All of this an aspect Amity appreciates but her dedication as an acolyte draws her from the opulence of her status; and perhaps that's what makes the nobility respect her and approve continuing the influence of their deity.

When she came to Solace it was a great surprise to find out that Laetatio, a son of the Warrior King himself, had already called this place home. She had heard about him through mutual means. Little off-handed comments of the Coatl son who turned out to be the complete opposite of the king; how he remains somewhere in the Ruins living a quiet life away from the bustle of the palace. It only took a few months for gossip to spark up of a possible arranged marriage between the two. Thank the Eleven that before the rumors could go full swing he and Aurielle became quite in love.

The disappointed ladies and gentlemen have too much time on their claws and flitted about conversations about prying eyes. The Fae heard from the Snapper who talked to the Spiral who knows the Nocturne that visited the Sakura Cup Cafe said they saw Amity with the Imperial guard. Some more gossip began to arise of the clan guard that has been obviously courting Amity. Talk of how a new member- a new queen- might come to power with a strong king to rule by her side. Already dragons had been secretly planning negotiations, alliances, congratulatory gifts and appearances.

But of course Amity knew this wasn't going to happen. She and Caesar knew they weren't for each other. They just didn't click. Amity was involved in this lifestyle that he obviously distanced himself from and Caesar was too reserved and sincere for her flamboyant extrovert personality. Not to mention the possible complications this could make. He now qualified as an uncrowned king and could take up the title in a time of dire need. But Amity could also take the mantle of queen now. As much as some might sneer at her affair, she would outrank most and could immediately put them to shame with a flick of the tail. After all, a queen doesn't need a king to rule.

Yet for all of these wonderful things she has a terrible flaw. She harbors contempt for those falsely representing the element they are not borne of. She gives a harsh criticism of the Water dragon garbed in sacred Arcane clothing and acting as an ambassador to said element. Or the Ice dragon leading a clan's Wind flight ambassador. Amity will defend her words by claiming it as the plain truth. It was known fact that only Arcane dragons could live within their own domain without growing sick from their own area's magical properties. It was pitying laughter from her when a Fire dragon tried to display the might of the Earthshaker to defend this very topic. Yes, the teachings could be taught to anyone but she will not take kindly to the subject. Especially when these fake ambassadors cannot even wield the element they claim to represent.

Now let's fast forward time to the present. Her very behavior, in the end, is what drove Caesar away. What he had once saw as admirable was now always a distasteful rant. He saw her generosity often rose from the guilt at the severity of her tongue. He wanted no part in someone who could not grow. He could not love someone who could be such an awful soul at unprecedented times, there was no honor in it. So he left.

While he still resides as guard she still travels. When she returns home things continue on as usual. In each other's presence they do not speak much when nothing is required or hold petty grudges. Life carries on as if what they had never existed. Amity doesn't let it bother her. In fact it really doesn't. Maybe she never really loved him.

The curse "spread" to her from the Crypt Keeper. Amity wailed in anger at the unending flow of black muck coming from her maw and cracks in her pearl. Best to blame it on the Keeper instead of facing the fact she was not the maiden she tried to make herself out to be.
