Osiris' Music Box: one; two; three.

______ If complete and utter devotion to one's deity above all else was a competition, if offerings were a battle and pride was the prize, Osiris could be considered among the Gladekeeper's best. A large part of the Coatl's day goes towards making sure that he's properly honoured his deity with a care and attention to detail that honestly draws scorn from some of the more lax clan members. Not everyone understands why Osiris must keep a small garden next to his nest, nor why he's more protective of it than he is his own hatchlings.

______ One theory as to why is that it supplies Osiris with some sort of much-needed past time because he doesn't talk to many other dragons, keeping mostly to himself, his offspring, or occasionally Pyxis. It's not like Osiris can travel around easily either, due to injuries sustained nearly two years ago when he was forced off course by strong winds and ending up colliding into the rocky cliffs of the Reedcleft ascent.
During the recovery phase, Osiris favoured dallying around and hanging out under the "protection" of any sort of large trees or flora he could find instead of trying to exercise or rehabilitate his wings. And since the original damage was at the very base of his wing joints... Well, it's safe to say the crabby Coatl will never fly again. Meaning that truly returning to the Viridian Labyrinth he holds in such high regard is nothing but a really sad dream at this point.

He refuses to accept anyone's pity however, and if anyone looks at him with a sad, knowing look, Osiris will refute them with a sardonic remark on how their deity is inferior in comparison to the Mother of All.
His quick tongue and sharp mind make coming up with stories easy, and it's with somewhat of an embarrassed air that Osiris records any ideas or tales that come to mind in a battered-looking weathered notebook. He feels that habit of his is an unwanted side effect of Alastiel's but it's something to take his mind off the very harsh and unforgiving truth that he might live his live out without ever seeing his real home again.
