Glitterdust is extremely vain.
Despite this, she is very helpful, and will commit to any and all tasks she is given without putting it off to shine her scales.... ...though she'll brag all the while about how good she looks even without doing so.
Before arriving in the Ashfall Waste, Glitterdust left her home in the Shifting Expanse to make her way in the world, and was frustrated when things didn't quite turn out the way she had expected. In a slump, she took a rest in the Starfall Isles, where she met Shimmer.
Though apprehensive at first, the two became firm friends as they realised they shared common interests: they both loved beautiful things, and they were both searching for a new purpose. Together they decided to travel Sornieth, surviving by selling ribbons they crafted until they could find a place to call home.

'Home' was found when, after selling ribbons all accross the northern area of the map, they dragged their tired limbs into the lower regions, ending up right beside Caramelloni's new lair. They asked to rest there in exchange for some ribbons, but ended up staying for free and forever as they were welcomed with great jubilation.
Unfortunately, this praise only stroked Glitterdust's ego, erasing any modesty she developed during her travels.
"Yes," she thought, "I deserve this appreciation after remaining beautiful despite all I've been through."

Shortly after settling into the new lair, she met Chilli, and began courting him. She didn't always understand his emotions or what he wanted, but the one of the things she did know was that they had a mutual appreciation for flattery.
They were soon mated, and had several hatchlings together, the most notable of which was Darling, who stayed with the clan to serve as a peacemaker.
Everything went smoothly until Magic arrived.

Magic was a Pearlcatcher gifted with a flashy smile and a particular way of weaving his words that could leave his listener 'spellbound'.
Glitterdust found him to be rather appealing and, as she was going through a 'rough patch' with Chilli, she announced to her mate that they were going to take a 'break' in their relationship.
It was only after hatching a clutch of eggs that the Imperial realised her distant emotions and proud nature had gotten the better of her, and that she had made a terrible mistake. Magic did not feel capable of raising hatchlings, and fled to pursue and reflect on his purpose, but this was not the reason Glitterdust begged Chilli for forgiveness.
It became clear over his heartbreak that no one truly loved her quite as much as he had done- though it took some time to repair their relationship. Since this incident, Glitterdust has become more conscious about the way her pride affects others, and focuses her energy on showing Chilli just how much she loves him, too.

The three dragons born of the affair were appropriately named 'Dream', 'Nightmare' and 'Fantasy', though all were cherished dearly despite the cause of their existence. Since then, Sweetums has been born to Glitterdust and Chilli, a precious addition to their growing family.
