Biography
Less inquisitive than acquisitive, Kurukun is a fascinating contrast: deeply invested in collecting a vast array of dragons who meet her particular standards of beauty, but perfectly willing to send her clanmates' hatchlings off to others with none of that same possessiveness.
Part of it is, to be certain, her childhood - when she was called Lotus Cloud, one of a vast pack of Mirrors, they were constantly moving. What few sparkling objects she could lay claim to, she often lost to a packmate who'd squabble over it; others were lost during the travels, despite her best efforts, or trampled into dust by less-attentive elders more invested in their next meal than a child's playthings.
Part of it is, however, that she's indoctrinated her clan, to greater and lesser extent, in the firm and steadfast belief that their progenitor is served by sending his word far and wide. Her faith is the source of her new name, and of her own new nature, so unlike the pack of her birth. Lotus Cloud was an unexceptional, unloved hatchling; Kurukun understands not only that strength is beauty, but that beauty is its own form of strength.
She paints herself as a welcoming, loving priestess, and it's not entirely a lie - her own primary mate, the Flameborn, is her silent sentinel and most adoring acolyte, but many of her adopted children have found in her the affection they missed. Not all of them are orphans - some flocked to her message - but the majority of her flock are the disaffected and disillusioned. She oversees them all with maternal fondness, but like many a matriarch, her word is law.
