John is one of the two hatchlings given to the Alternia clan by Feferi's parents as part of a prophecy they'd had, the other being his 'twin' Jade. He's a playful, cheery child, and likes to play pranks on the rest of his clan, even though they aren't very good right now. He's so far shown something of an aptitude for music, though whether it will develop into something or not will be determined in time.

Dave likes to joke that he must have been switched with a wind dragon when they weren't looking due to his love of flying (now that he's gotten the hang of it), but John just enjoys the feel of the wind ruffling through his fur. It almost always leave it a mess afterwords, but thankfully it's easy to untangle with a bit of magical brushing.
