Merciless Mercenary In the aftermath of the Emperors' attack, Ulli found herself short on those trained in the magical arts, specifically healers. Under normal circumstances, she would never just hire a healer, or a warrior for that matter, without having known them personally or fully believed in the credibility of the clans they came from beforehand, but these were not normal circumstances. So it was that the gilded matriarch sought out and paid for the company and services of two young Wildclaw mercenaries; one who could heal and attend to Hymn at any and all times of the day, and one that could help defend against roving raiders should anyone set their sights on the weakened and powerless Light clan.

While Psalm settled himself and dreamed of a life spent in the recovering Light clan, Irae knew better than to fall in love with a temporary job. She patrolled the clan's territory each and every day, methodically checking and tracing the errant footprints of Beastclan and rogue dragons alike, personally eliminating any threat that came too close to her contractor's home. As the days turned to weeks and the initial threat of raiders began to lessen, Irae prepared for her contract to expire. She could only hope that Psalm would return to his senses when it was time to leave, instead of sinking further into his delusions of a domestic life.
