His duties include: Assigning available jobs to dragons who show talent in specific areas, Gathering resources, ensuring that the clan has at least 3 battle proven dragons to protect them and represent the lair in the coliseum. He also visits the nests of expecting dragons daily to tend to them and decides which dragons become exalted.

The usual complaints from the lairs occupants are about all their children going off to war and never returning... or the need for a larger lair. Now where is Emeraven at?
