Backstory Legend has it first generation dragons come into the world three ways. One, they are abandoned by their parents. Two, their parents have died. Three is the most interesting, legend has it the deities have sent down one of their servants to deliver a new dragon into Sornieth. This is how Arden came into this world. It was the bitter of winter when Windsinger appointed unclaimed land in the Zephyr Steppes. He appointed Yaga, a Skydancer who was exalted from the Windswept Plateau many years ago, to deliver one of the eggs. She held the little egg with her front claws as the winter wind breezed around her feathery green wings. When she hit the ground, the snowstorm was still wrecking havoc on the land. Instead of leaving the egg and heading back to The Cloudsong, Yaga held the egg above her paws and held her wings around it to protect it from the elements. It was a tough night back on earth, but in the morning the blizzard had ended. Little snowflakes gently fell from the sky and the snow was thick in the ground. Yaga silently thanked Windsinger for stopping the blizzard winds for the morning. A few moments later, a crack broke the silence of the winter morning. Yaga watched as a title tundra broke through the shell. He gave out a small cry and tried to crawl up the Skydancer's leg. Yaga gave a faint laugh and picked him up by his scruff. With the beat of her wings, she flew around the Wind Flight until she found a suitable home for the little ball of fluff; a colony of snapperflies. As Arden grew up, he learned kindness and joy from his family. He began to largest and had the deepest voice out of his adopted clan, but he loved them all them same. It was a warm spring day when Arden was overwhelmed with Wanderlust. One of the older den mothers told Arden that he was specifically placed on Sornieth by Windsinger for a purpose, he just needed to find it. Arden traveled for many days and nights, sleeping under the stars and flying through the clouds. One day, he stopped to take a drink from a lazy river when he noticed his surroundings. There was a wide, flat field surrounding him; this was a land perfect to build a new home. Arden gathered materials to start building a house for himself, when a female mirror flew by. Arden made quick friends with her and learned her name was Esmerelda. They built this clan together, named after the dragon who delivered Arden to the Windswept Plateau. Arden knew his clan would be incredible. |
