"Oh bite your tongue." He snorted as he checked the straps around his torso. "Imagine what is beyond this storm.. What a gorgeous place it must be up there." He sighed faintly. He turned back to the old Skydancer. "Well.. I suppose this is farewell, old friend." The Skydancer offered a faint, worn smile. "Be careful, friend. Fly well.. May Windsinger favor you on your journey, and may his winds guide you to your destiny." He raised a hand, watching the Guardian take off toward the raging wind storm. The Search.. A thing he had been told about ever since he'd hatched. A quest only his breed went on to find their calling.. Their purpose. He pushed higher into the air, relishing the feel off the cool wind rushing under his wings. He did a few flips, straightening out as he approached the twisting storm. It pulled him in, and he watched as a smaller dragon was pulled out of his flight pattern, screaming helplessly. Perhaps this was going to be harder than he anticipated.. It wasn't long before Attor found the winds to be exhausting. He struggled to fly straight and fly with the gust. One wrong move and he would be sent in a tumble. The storm would either toss him out and deem him worthy to try again later, or suck him into the eye, at which point he would most likely never be seen again. Unfortunately, a wrong move did occur. His left wing folded in under a great whip of wind, and the Guardian was thrown sideways. He fought to get back on track, but was sucked into the eye of the violent storm. His vision wavered and then reality ceased to exist. |

"Stay under my wings, hatchlings.. I will keep you safe and dry.. Serezha will tell a tale today.." Julianos strode over, curling up to listen. Slowly, more clan mates rushed over to join in the circle. Some hatchlings had been brought out of their nest, and they hesitantly curled up under the shadowy Guardian's awkwardly angled wings. He glanced up as a second Guardian appeared beside him. She was colored like the night sky, but carried such gentle and loving vibes. She nuzzled him, humming a quiet greeting to Attor before looking around. "So now.. it rains.." She looked up at the sky. "And I shall tell you the tale of the Great Green Gem.." She purred. The tale was the story of a legendary green gem an earth dragon had uncovered. Dragons stole the gem, and it was fought over throughout countless generations. Families split up over the gem. Numerous dragons died stealing it or protecting it. Greed was a powerful thing. The tale ended when Windsinger himself stepped in after seeing his children fighting over it. The gem disappeared, but the Windswept Plateau became the gorgeous, vibrant green it now was. "Dragons say he used the gem to color our land so that all who roamed could share the gem's gift.." Serezha settled, The area was quiet as the dragons sat in silence, listening to the rumble of the thunder and patter of the rain. As they looked around, they noticed out colorful and bright their home appeared. |
