Biography

Daknir
Patient - Intelligent - Underestimated

Daknir often thinks of many things that he never voices.
None of them are particularly harmful should he ever decide to say them, but aside from advise and the company of Tramonto and Kithan, he prefers to keep his own council at least when it comes to his inner meandering thoughts.

Often he wonders where his children are. Did their souls pass on or are they still roaming the woods?
Or are they serving the deities? That wouldn't be so bad, surely they would be treated well and given all the comforts they should need, by almost any one of their gods.
He's gone over the possibilities about what happened that night numerous times, putting his methodical strategist mind to the task, yet it always comes up as no definitive answer, as any possibility seems just as unlikely.

As time has passed, the sharpness of he and his mate's shared grief has dulled in them both, never to fully be dismissed, no, but at least it's become an ache that has dulled with time, turned over and over into an ever present factor, yet now their minds have cleared enough to think of other things as well. They've begun to learn to live again, with what has happened, and consider that the best possibility is still realistic.

He is sure that Kitan also thinks often on their shared tragedy, though hopes that she too has stopped frantically turning it around and around endlessly, and by now it has become a sort of companion of it's own. For his part, coming up with strategies to defend their homeland and lair, should the first lines of defense be breached, has served as a welcome distraction, something he feels his children would be proud of him for being able to do, after all that has happened.
This is important work, it is beneficial, it is protective, and it never takes the place of the thoughts of his children, never pushes them out of his mind in favor of it.
This work instead honors their memory, and promises to do all that he can to aide and protect their family, so perhaps nothing similar will ever happen to them again.

Trivia:

One time as a sort of joke, Tramonto had him try Seaberries. It wasn't much of a joke really, relying on that they were blue and so was he, but he found he really enjoyed the small fruits, and so now keeps a good store of them nearby. He takes a few at a time to savor them, but by the end of the day, the entire packed amount is gone.

Trail bars also often make it into his pack, as whatever he's doing and however far he ranges searching for inspiration, they're a boost of energy that feels refreshing.

His favorite spot outside of the lair is a small and tucked away spot of always green grass outside on a hill overlooking the main territory roads, under the dappled shade from overhanging trees. From this position he can watch the important pathways while resting, still feeling as though he's fulfilling a guarding position even in idleness, as well as take notes on what hours each has the most usage of and any discrepancies to check later. This position also allows him to stay cool in the hotter days and appreciate the wind.

He'd like to get to know Marcius better, and feels that their work is similar enough that sharing information among each other would be beneficial, perhaps even strengthen their experience with tips they could exchange. He never blamed Macius for what happened. But Marcius appears to be, while not exactly antisocial, hesitant about sharing anything personal, and especially when the topic about his work or why he chose that path are brought up, the Guardian smoothly sidesteps them into another, casual conversation.
Daknir doesn't resent these new discussion changes, they are interesting in their own way, and far be it from him to be unfriendly, but they are also designed to be safe, and not very engaging otherwise.
Oh well. Perhaps one of these days, Marcius may decide to set his guilt aside and come to him in true friendship.
The offer has been given, and will stand.
