Viral

Viral had always been a quiet dragon, not one for the spotlight or anything of the sort. She kept mostly to herself, even when she migrated to a new clan. But shortly after her arrival, another dragon came. Kage was everything she wasn't; loud, funny, enthusiastic, always trying to make new friends. She stayed as far away from him as possible, afraid he would approach her.

Kage seemed to take a sort of offense to this, but rather than be angry he deviced a plan to win her attention. Seeing that the direct approach didn't work, he sent her a single flower every day, a flower under a magic spell that prevented it from wilting and dying. Every day, he'd leave this flower outside her cave and every day, she would take it into her cave and say nothing more, simply trying to be polite.

One day, the flower didn't come.

The normally calm and quiet Viral began to panic. She asked all around the clan if anyone had seen him, until finally Anya informed her that she'd seen him fly off to the northeast. Viral took off with record speed until she found him. He was lying half dead on the ground, cut and broken. She descended to the ground, stumbling as she hit the earth too hard, then began to use her healing magic on him.

"Kage, what on Sornieth did you do?"

The weak dragon smiled his cheshire grin, opening his claw and revealing a single red rose. "Seems the Nature clans weren't too keen on me borrowing flowers from them every day, fair maiden. But I would brave the battle a thousand times more to see the smile on your face every morning."

The corners of her mouth twitched upwards and he chuckled. "Aye, that's the one," he remarked as she shook her head.

"You're such a hassle, I hope you know that." When the worst of his wounds had healed, she grabbed him as best she could and took off into the air, using much of her magic just to keep them from plummeting into the ground.

"No one made you come searching for me, fair maiden. You came of your own free will."

"I'm gonna drop you of my own free will if you don't shut your mouth," she joked. He gave another weak chuckle and closed his eyes as they flew back to the clan, and that's the story of how Kage and Viral fell in love.
