the Peculiar Sorceress

B I O G R A P H Y

A powerful sorceress shrouded in mystery; she comes from a long line of sorcerers who have always held a great power, though no-one knows where this power originates from and when asked about it, her previous family members remain silent. Espira reins over a land given to her by her ancestors that can only be accessed through portals that are hidden randomly throughout the world of Flight Rising. Portals so far have been the surface of mirrors, the depths of deep lakes and the shadows of Emperors. It is unknown whether these portals stay in the same place or vanish after use, as few enter her domain and those that do always end up in a place different from when they started.

While it is possible to see her outside of her own small world, it is most likely not truly her that you may see stand before you, but rather a 'shadow' of herself, a being that is solid and not solid at will. It talks like her, it thinks like her - it is her, in a sense, but it is merely a form of her. It cannot feel as she can and it cannot be killed, merely damaged enough to be forced to fall apart and cease to be. Espira can generate another 'shadow' form of herself if this occurs, however will need time to rest as doing so uses a great amount of energy. If she disperses the shadow of her own will, it will be easier to replace. Interestingly, she cannot conjure a 'shadow' of herself in her own domain, though no one knows why.

B I O G R A P H Y

Her 'shadow' form is easy to tell apart from her real self if you can observe and distinguish different magical auras. Her natural presence carries a sense of powerful dark magic with a mix of other types that perhaps may be difficult to describe. Her 'shadow' however carries an aura that is probably odd to many.Some might describe it as 'unnatural' or perhaps 'alien', which most conclude is close enough to the truth. Even if you are one who is unable to detect such auras, the appearance and senses might give it away on occasion. On Espira's 'shadow' form, her colours seem to blend a little more together and if you look closely, she looks as if she's made of coloured and slightly opaque mist, despite being solid. It will also be ice cold to the touch. In her natural form Espira's Cherub and Seraph markings stand out a tad more; seem more defined. Oddly enough, she rarely actually wears apparel, yet her 'shadow' seems to wear a outfit that sometimes differs each time it is generated.

Espira is not known to many despite her great power and her linage, in fact, her previous family members had kept to their land for so long those that knew of them simply ended up believing the line had ended. Technically, it has, as Espira was adopted into the linage simply to be given her power. However she is starting to make the world aware of her and her abilities, mostly by using them where she sees fit, whether this be for her own gain or to teach an unfortunate dragon a harsh lesson. She is a rather 'grey character' as her morals have proven to be questionable on numerous occasions and she is known to hang around and side with 'the bad guys', yet also has a reputation for being quite the underdog and ditching the villains to do the right thing, in her own Espira like way. It can be rather bewildering to tell where her loyalties lie and to judge her character.
