THE CURSED

Place of Origin: The Lightning Farm
Mate: Vesuvius
Backstory: Naira first hatched to the loud crackle of lightning and boom of the Stormcatchers voice, deep within the Lightning Farm. As she grew underneath the endless toil of the Stormcatcher's employees, Naira found herself enraptured by the power and glow of the electricity around her, and vowed to steal some for herself. After spending several years creating a small machine from scraps and bolts she had found, Naira stole some of the Stormcatchers electricity and fled the Shifting expanse in the dead of night. On her journey through the skies, she chose to land in the Southern Icefield for a break, where she was attacked by a jealous dragon wizard who wished to steal her power. Frozen and chained in place, her wings broken, Naira was suddenly rescued by a passing Skydancer, and the pair fled the Southern Icefield to the other tip of the world, the Viridian Labyrinth.

A New Start: The skydancer that had saved Naira revealed himself as Vesuvius, a thief-for-hire originally from the Hewn City. Impressed by Naira's own story of thievery, the skydancer vowed never to leave her side, for which Naira was grateful. Vesuvius then took Naira to the Clan of the Shaded Wood, of which Vesuvius stated he had a connection. Winona accepted the pair, though she seemed wary of Naira.

The Curse: Naira soon discovered that the ice around her claws seemed never to melt, and after checking with the Clan's shaman, Vaermina, Naira realized that the wizard had placed a curse on her, and she was trapped in her reduced mobility, her legs slow and clumsy with ice, and her wings broken. Naira found a way to be useful to the clan, however, by providing them with small bits of electricity that she keeps around her body.
