Biography
Since her hatching Winter has been insatiable- always hungry for knowledge, or flying time, or the chance to have some fun. To her parents, she was a darling, but her caretakers considered her to be more of a nightmare. She was- and still is- extremely hyper and a bit ADD, her Lightning and Spiral heritage giving her limitless amounts of energy. Most of the other hatchlings were easily distracted by shinies and softly whispered words, but Winter would just boop the caretakers on the nose and then wriggle away to chat up a classmate or find a book she had noticed earlier.
Eventually, the time came for her to make a decision: to stay and find a place to work within her clan, or brave the unknown in hopes of settling elsewhere. Her answer? “Well, I’ll just go wherever my wings take me, and when I get there, it will be my home.” Her parents tried to encourage her to consider more stable ways of life, but this was one thing she remained steadfast on. When the hunters began to return empty-handed and the gatherers could find naught but scraps, she decided it was time to go.
She travelled for months, staying with many different clans and experiencing tons of new culture, plants, and animals, especially once she made it past the borders of the Shifting Expanse. The Light flight was a tempting option, but their serious, restrained lifestyle did not quite fit her tastes, and so she continued north until the grassy plains grew trees thick enough to block the sun. Here was a life she could get used to- all manner of mystery and adventure lurked on every branch, and behind every tree. She became entranced by this land, and the clans within were happy to teach her their ways. Blending in, having fun, and springing the perfect trap- or prank- on the most unsuspecting prey were things she adored to excel at. It wasn’t long after that one of the clans who taught her offered to take her in, and so of course she accepted. From there, her pranks grew in elaborance and in number, her keen intelligence creating the perfect plants and her swiftness carrying them out. Thankfully, her clanmates don’t mind occasionally being coated with sparkly green slime.
