Though you wouldn't think it of the delicate bard, Gig collects information as rigorously as her husband. From the simplest daily events, to hunting and gathering misadventures, to conflicts between clans. She just can't get enough.

But unless you go out of your way she's unlikely to ever bring her information to bear against you. No, Gig is a musician first, and gathers the tales she does to expand her ever increasing arsenal of ballads. You would never know from all the tweaking (twisting, Ram says with a fond smile), but most of her tales are inspired by everyday life. And that is, perhaps, how it should be.


A disappointment to her parents, who thought her not a great beauty, Gig sometimes doesn't realize just how beautiful Ram finds her. So he makes sure to tell her, daily.

As a child, Verana dreamed of flying, both by growing wings or simply by running fast enough that she took off and climbed into the sky. Now grown, she still sometimes runs as fast as she can to reach that moment in a jump that carries the illusion of flight.

She also avoids standing too close to the sides of cliffs, because the desire to leap off scares her.


That is, until one hunt when the ground collapsed beneath her and pitched her over the edge of the icecliff. The wanderer Teyrin leapt off after her, and flew her back up to the cliff's edge.

It was everything the centaur had ever dreamed, and even after the dragon escorted her home and departed she refused to let go of that feeling.

Her herd sent out emissaries to dragon clans on her behalf, eventually attracting Gig's attention. The Fae wanted the story of the Centaur who flew, and traveled to Verana's clan to talk to her. Not used to dealing with Fae, Verana was startled by the thought that her own wings would likely be similar in size to Gig's, and when she said so, the Fae offered to loan them to her.

With the tiny Fae clinging tightly to her back, wings out, Verana found she could jump and glide for a time. And the fun-loving Fae enjoyed the game as well, so they repeated the trial numerous times. When Gig's husband arrived to escort her back home, he was convinced to bring Verana with them.


Since then, Verana has fallen in love with the kite-lair of Gig's clan, and amuses herself by leaping from platform to platform, knowing the clan dragons will dive after her if she falls. Sometimes she accompanies Gig on story gathering missions, adding centaur inspired tales to the bard's arsenal.

In deference to her dream Caranthir is working with Verbena and Tarragon on fashioning a harness with a kite that will allow the young centaur to glide. Supervised, of course.
