______ Frost was born two days before Breeze, his adoptive sister. They were inseparable as hatchlings, often playing on the steppes to the north of their comfy sea cavern home. They lived in peace and bliss with his parents, Daena and Steam, until a massive hurricane swept Breeze into the sea. Frost was flung against the cliff face, able to hold on with his stronger claws and muscles, but Breeze was gone. He made his way back to the den in the downpour and wind, but when he got there, the cave was empty. It was quickly filling with water, and the only sign of his parents was a smear of magenta feathers on a jagged corner of the entrance.

______ Fearing the worst, Frost decided to flee. He made his way up the cliff face and inland, flying as fast as he could until he believed he would be safe. In a wide open plain with no cover, the young skydancer collapsed, completely exhausted. The next morning came and went, and he didn't wake until the afternoon. The sun shone smugly above him, as if it hadn't been covered the day before by the angriest, blackest clouds he had ever seen. He silently cursed it as he stood up, adjusting his armor and scarf as he did so.

______ That day, he made it his mission to make it back northwards to see if he could find his parents or his lost sister. He flew on, even though he was more tired than he ever had been before. The sun was just beginning to creep towards the horizon when he reached The Seaward Port, a destination for clans passing through the region as an area to take a rest. As his feet made contact with the warm wooden planks, balloons moved slowly overhead, and lanterns hung from wooden beams. Dragons from all walks of life and all regions of Sornieth crowded the boardwalks, all trying to book a place to stay after the storm. Frost was bustled around by panicking imperials, ridgebacks, and spirals as he made his way forwards, looking for any sign of his mother's magenta wings.

______ As he approached the end of the boardwalk, he was suddenly knocked over by a panicked black pearcatcher. Her pearl rolled out of her talons and almost off of the boardwalk, but Frost was able to reach over and catch it smoothly with his wing, rolling it into his claws. He stood up, brushed himself off, and presented it back to her. She took it slowly, her green eyes wide with shock. "Thank you," she breathed, in a voice that could only be described by Frost as like honey. Her striped dark coat was covered in dust, signifying that she came from Earth's realm. Frost dipped his head once he took his eyes off of hers, introducing himself. She did the same, saying her name with a buttery smoothness Frost didn't think was possible. Cinder. WIP
