The last of the fire light begins to die down. Many begin to talk about making their way home. But then a deep drum beat starts up, all talk dies as they catch sight of a dragon beginning to dance. She moves in time with the beat, not of the drum but of the ocean. Her motions are fluid and deep. The silks that are draped around her body seem to have to hurry to catch up, like seaweed on the tide. No one knows how long she danced or exactly when she stopped but when they finally shook themselves awake the first thing they noticed was that the fire was dead, the next was that their gold pouches had been emptied.
