Biography
Where others consider a long life lived a sign of wisdom, in Plague, it is a sign of superiority.
Pasha is an old draikina, and feels she has bitterly earned every turn of Sornieth she lived through with her ferocity and wits. Who is to show a survivor such as her anything but deference? Has it gone to her head? Perhaps, but who will confront her about it?
In her home she was treated as a respected pillar of their settlement, a semi-religious figure. She was given tributes and offerings from her younger clanmates in hopes that they would be blessed with her longevity. She reminded them unearned and easy longevity is a sin. They were made to struggle; let struggle be their blessing.
In her old age she felt she had conquered the Boneyard. The easy life of being supported by her clanmates, respected and feared, lost its luster immediately. She was built for a life of raging and clawing for her next day. So she abandoned the young ones, took nothing but the Plague-dyed garments she earned in her status, and went in search of her Charge: struggle.
She is recognized by Anatoly. He holds no religious respect for Pasha, but her reputation is widespread.
She holds special attention on Alicja for her background. Here is a dragon with promise. She holds herself in the frigid Ice way. She has endured much, but has grown far too comfortable here. Pasha knows she could survive so much more than this. She wants to push her to the brink to see if she will break. Alicja fears this more than anything.
