"We shall find peace. We shall hear angels, we shall see the sky sparkling with diamonds."

Long before the Veilspun host returned in force to the wilds of Sornieth, Yasiin ventured forth from the Wispwillow Grove alone in service to a sacred calling.

Ancient prophesies guarded by the Wildstar clan foretold the coming of a Veilspun hatchling born in the heart of a raging storm, whose power to beguile and control would be unparalleled, and whose soul would be fractured from birth. It was their belief that, without a nurturing hand, the child's corruption would ripen into an uncontrollable, malevolent rage, and spur a rampage that would blanket the whole of Sornieth in darkness and misery.

Each generation, the elders would test their young acolytes and name the most capable among them a Herald of Twilight. The Herald's purpose was simple: find the fractured Veilspun child and love them, and through that love, perhaps prevent calamity.

Yasiin, a gifted shapeshifter, bested his peers and took the Herald's oath. He left the Grove with his familiar, Firouz, at his side, and put the fairylike form of his kin behind him. For years he traveled Sornieth in the guise of a powerful Ridgeback warrior, championing justice and defending the downtrodden, always in search of the stormborn babe, but the search was fruitless. Even the other Heralds who set out before and after him seemed lost to him. In time, he forgot his calling and himself, and surrendered wholly to the Ridgeback flesh he had worn for so long. That is, until whispers on the wind told of the Veilspun dragons' return.

The hour of twilight must soon be at hand.

At long last Yasiin assumed his true form and resumed his quest. He rode the most violent storms he could find, sensing that the return of the Veilspuns to Sornieth must foreshadow the child's imminent arrival. It was in the midst of one of these raging tempests that he met Bey, a young priestess of the Wildstar clan who had set out from the grove in search of the silent Heralds. Her wisdom and beauty enthralled him as much as his passion did her, and their easy friendship blossomed quickly into romance. Now they travel side by side, in hopes of one day finding the child of prophecy and mending its broken soul.

On the night Yasiin pledged to leave the Wispwillow Grove, the clan elders entrusted to his care a young cerdae named Firouz - 'victorious' - for the glory his sacrifice and dedication might one day bring to the Wildstar clan. Though proud and aloof, he is fiercely loyal to his master.
