Malourne
Captain of the Treasure

As you reach the port of Isle Tallulah a large ship comes into view, a simple thing, but well made. Three masts stand tall, towering high above the buildings that lie along the port, with fore-and-aft sails along the aftermost mast and square sails on the rest. The name painted on the side reads 'The Treasure.'You make your way on board, dodging around crew members loading cargo onto the ship. The crew is surprisingly small, seemingly fewer than thirty dragons in all and consisting of a variety of dragons from Fae to Ridgeback. Suddenly your attention is drawn to one dragon, a female Guardian whom, judging by her attire, is likely the captain. She's...singing? (If one could call it that.) It's horribly loud and off-key, but the crew seems unfazed; they must be used to this sort of thing.

"'Tis larboard and starboard on the deck you will sprawl,
to my way haye, blow the m- Oh? And who might you be, just waltzing onto a dragons ship without so much as a hello. Ah go on, you can look around, but don't touch anything or I'll have Kholin and Baliss on you faster than you can say 'boo'."

Boisterous and loud, Malourne has been sailing for as long as she can remember. Born to a pair of sailors on shore leave, she was the only one of their whelps that joined them when their ship set sail again. From the start she had to learn quickly, for both her parents and the ship's captain would not go easy on her just because of her age. She was a hard worker though, and eager as well, wanting to learn about every aspect of sailing. As the years went on her skills improved, and she was considered to be quite charismatic. She listened to and helped crew members, noting complaints and gripes about the poor way they were being treated before taking things into her own claws and going to the captain herself. When confronting the captain the crew backed her, and when the captain lashed out she fought back. His plan to make an example of the guardian failed, and after a lengthy fight his blood stained the deck, Malourne standing victorious.

A captain ever since, Malourne has always made it a point to treat her crew right; a ship couldn't be sailed by one dragon alone, only by many working together. She's strict, but fair, and always open to suggestions from the crew. Many of the suggestions that she's taken and applied have come from former pirates, in training the crew in more diverse and advanced fighting techniques, and in more efficient ways to maintain the ship, among other things.

Her charge is an old and empty treasure chest, the namesake of the ship.
"If the highest aim of a captain were to preserve her ship, she would keep it in port forever."
