Emyr had lived for 84 years before he met Spectre, and he had spent most of that time alone. He had always been a traveler, taking to the skies for days, sometimes even weeks at a time. Today Emyr spends most of his time on the ground keeping track of the clan's monetary resources.

It was raining on the day Emyr met Spectre. He had taken refuge under an overhang in the Wandering Contagion and quickly realized he was not the only one to do so. Though Emyr had expected a(n easy) fight, Spectre welcomed him enthusiastically. The two swapped stories, and to their surprise, they got along quite well. Emyr abandoned his own aimless wandering to join Spectre's instead.

Emyr often provides Spectre with leadership advice since he has more experience, though he has no interest in a leadership position himself. He remains content to halfheartedly complain about the clan's other dragons with Cecily while keeping track of inventory.

It is rumoured that Emyr bulks up the clan's treasury by prying off his own golden scales and melting them down to form coins. He has yet to either confirm or deny this.
