The first thing you notice is the layer of shattered bones, scattered treasure, and shards of broken objects that litter the floor of his lair. There is a reason most avoid entering this place. Everyone within the clan knows of the legendary rage of Kylo Ren, and there are few who have survived it. Instead of a magnificent hoard of treasure that might be more befitting of a dragon of his status, the sharp, broken remnants of claimed victories that lie on the floor are a testament to his rage.
He does not speak of his past. His parents are nameless, shameful, and weak. He speaks only of his training, his strength, and his dominance over those who would try to challenge him. He came to this clan not so long ago. Leader of a feared band of dragons known throughout Sornieth as The Knights of Ren, he had taken up residence in an abandoned temple on the edge of the clan's territory. It had once been a temple to the Light, now fully desecrated by these dark and twisted lands, tainted with filth and shadow. Kylo considers it a fitting place for one such as him. Against the counsel of Melinoë and Skywalker, who both knew enough of Kylo to fear what he might bring, Lumen decided to accept the Knights of Ren into the clan. As a clan of mercenary warriors, having such legendary and feared shadows as the dreaded Knights of Ren among their ranks may be worth the risk. The Knights stay near the temple, separated from the rest of the clan, training, killing, becoming stronger. They aid the clan in serious matters. No one knows why they agreed to stay. Some say Kylo bears a grudge against a dragon currently in the clan. Some say he has his eye on something else entirely that ties him here, half against his will. Whatever his reasons, his Knights will stay as long as he remains here. He is strong, more attuned to others than even most other Skydancers. With a word, a wave of his talons, the briefest flutters of his dark wings, he can paralyze, suffocate, destroy. There are even whispers that he can read the minds of others. However, with such great power often comes pride. With pride comes blindness and weakness. This, paired with his rash nature and emotional instability often drag him to the brink of defeat. And there are a few in this clan as skilled as he is who are able to destroy him in ways he did not think possible. Reveal his weakness. His disgusting compassion. One thing is certain: Kylo will not leave until he gets what he wants. And in Kylo's mind, he always takes what he wants. |
