Kiev had always been interested in fossils, his favorite thing was to dig for hours upon hours and design new, crazy creatures from his finds. He would often be dusty and sweaty when he finally came back up; his mother would often chide him for taking so long in his digging and mining operation that he missed dinner.
During his digging, unable to distinguish the yelling of his clan, they came under attack by rogue dragons, banned from their clans and their deities. The rogue's sorrow was so great it drove them mad, able o kill without mercy. After hours of digging, he finally became overcome by a strange feeling, like something was watching him. He shrugged it off and went back up the mine shaft, just in time for a piercing shriek to reach his ears. Urging the lift to go faster, upon breaking the surface of the den he found a gnarly sight of blood splatters and broken pots. Galloping out into the flurrying snow, he found more blood splatters and a death battle between the rogues and another clan. He screamed in terror as a dark guardian female, covered in battle scars and roughly adorned wraps, eyed him before turning her attention back to the real battle. A pack of mirrors swarmed him, trying to drown out his screams of terror with their snarls and battle cries. Several dragons started battling the pack threatening to kill him, fighting for this young dancer they'd never met before. They were successful in defeating the rogue horde of dragons; they'd explained that a shipment of exalted dragons from Plaguebringer's realm to the Icewarden had broken free of their restraints, setting loose an unconstrained army of feral dragons, armed and ready to kill. He had cried softly as they explained that his clan was no more, that his friends and family were gone, but they offered him a high ranking position in their clan for his losses. He solemnly agreed, packing up his precious cargo before saying goodbye to his home. A dark pearly, dressed for the weather in boots, a large overcoat, and fluffy arm wraps, consoled him on their long flight home, carrying the small Skydancer when he couldn't keep up with the group. Kiev slept through most of it, hiding his tears within his friend's mane. He awoke to a warm, fuzzy nest and his new friend sleeping peacefully beside him. He vouched that from then on, he'd fight instead of flee, because he'd be cursed if he would lose this new family. PARTNER TO TUNUM |
