Kodiak came to the Clan as a gift from another friendly dragon clan. At the time, he was an egg and the other clan thought that maybe whoever came from the egg would be able to do more or at least fit in better. Not to say that he wouldn't have fit in in their clan, just that he'd probably be a better fit in this Clan.

He does enjoy cooking and is concerned that there really isn't anyone designated as a cook. So Kodiak decided to take up the mantle so that dragons and others weren't having to make food themselves (often with questionable quality). That said, he certainly hopes that more dragons decide to join under him, as the Clan is very large and will most likely only get larger. That was his Search, as he is helping protect the Clan from poor food, which can sicken or even kill.

As of now, he serves under Yarekma and her Hunting and Gathering branch, but she has been mulling it over about possibly letting Kodiak have a subdivision devoted to cooking-provided more dragons join him and his endeavors. It would free up time that the other dragons spend making food themselves for other things more in line with their tasks.

Besides, he spends most of his time cooking anyway; not out hunting and gathering. He does have some help from some pixies. They smelled some of his food and were found eating it! Kodiak was kind of miffed about it, but they offered to work for some of his food. This was something that he agreed to right away and they are charged with delivering food as well as taking orders on what that dragon wants. Or Beastclan member for that matter.

They do help with making food as well, since he has a lot of orders to take daily and since he's no longer the one having to go out and ask, this means more time to make food. Kodiak has spoken to the Mechanics subdivision in the hopes of them coming up with something that a dragon or whoever could put in their order and it would instantly appear in his kitchen. It would free up the pixies to help more with food as well.

With the addition of more dragons interested in cooking, the Main 3 granted both his and Gloriana's request for them to be in a subdivision of their own, called Culinary and they are charged with making food for the entire Clan. The two are recognized as the heads of the subdivision and report to Yarekma when it comes to needing supplies.

The Mechanics subdivision came through with making computers in every den that connected to the kitchen. The pixies now have that as their duty-monitoring for orders and telling those in Culinary what they are.
