"I may not be seen, but I will will always be here, silently watching, silently protecting all under my gaze." - Heimdallr

The ocean rippled with a thousand waves, and was ruled by a thousand currents. That's how he saw it from the place that he gazed. Watching, it was what he did best from his post, so that he could confront the terrors that threatened Sorneith below. A flash of blue and a whirl of black suddenly caught his eye. It didn't take him less then a second to realize what was going on. Heimdallr spread his crimson hued wings, and shot into the sky above. All one could see was a streak of red shooting by. Heimdallr had noticed something fairly suspicious along the coast of the Viridian Labyrinth, and so he went to confront it. That is, he attempted to confront it. As he arrived at the area that it was sighted, the remnants of the disturbance was a bunch of oil-coated skydancer bones. He bent down to pick them up "These are fairly new." he thought as he gently set them back down. There was something out there, something that didn't belong near Sorneith. And that, was exactly what Heimdallr was going to seek out. He scoured the area until he had recovered all evidence from the disturbance. It was then that he encountered the snapper. "Uh excuse me sir." she quietly asked him "But have you seen my mate Cyperus?" to which Heimdallr turned to face her. "What does your mate happen to look like?" he calmly asked her. "Well, he was a blue speckled skydancer." that made Heimdallr suspicious "And where was he last sighted?" the snapper teared up a little "We last heard he was headed to the Ivymoss Bluff, which is the area you just came from. It was then that he knew "I think I know what happened to your friend." and he pulled out the still oil-covered bones. "I found these lodged in the rocks. They look rather new as well." and the snapper then broke down in tears "I'm sorry, I swear I have no idea what happened to him." his voice lowered as he knew that he wasn't even helping. "But I can hunt down the thing that did this." he spoke up. And with that, the snapper's eyes lit up. It wasn't too long before he skimming the salty waters of the ocean, effectively reaching the limits of Sorneith. Heimdallr knew it was out here somewhere, yet where it would strike next was an unknown fact to him. What he did know however, was that it attacked dragons that lived near rivers and the coast. "But when I find it, I will obliterate it and avenge those who suffered." he quietly muttered to himself. Behind him, the waves swelled even higher as something massive passed underneath. It knew Heimdallr was an all-seeing imperial. However sometimes the weakest blind spot on a dragon is where they don't bother to look. A dark-colored tendril lashed out at him, and dragged him under. "It's...a cephalopod?" Heimdallr asked himself as he squinted to see his attacker. It then made sense, the oil covering the bones wasn't oil, but ink. He was thrashing now, attempting to wriggle free from what felt like living ropes. "It's attempting to drown me first, then it can do whatever it wants." he felt a rush of adrenaline, and broke free. Relief washed over him when he broke the surface, gasping now. He weakly stretched his wings and barley managed to catch a breeze. Heimdallr barely managed to escape it, and now it was time to finish this thing for once and for all. Heimdallr now didn't care if he won fairly, or underhandedly. This....thing blindsided him, and almost pulled him to a watery end. Taking a small rune stone that he always carried with him, he dropped it into the mouth of the now surfacing cephalopod. The runestone could be seen activating from inside the monstrosity's stomach. As he fled the area, her could glimpse an eruption of water. "I'm normally that dragon that fights with horn and flame, but it blindsided me, and tried to pull me under. It deserved it fair and square." he chuckled, and then silently flew back to Sorneith.
